AIRLOCK One should be installed proximal to the AC intake airflow, to ensure that the airflow passes directly through the ion emitters.
AIRLOCK One can be installed in any direction—upright, upside down, or sideways.
AIRLOCK One relies on the AC unit's airflow to carry its purifying ions — if the intake is blocked or no air is being drawn in, the ions can't reach the cabin and the air won't be purified.
Make sure the ion emitters don’t touch any surface to avoid interference or damage.
Option A
INSIDE THE AIR PLENUM
Accessible by opening the air vent from inside the RV.
The ideal location is on the supply side of the plenum, near the blower outlet. If this is not possible, installing the device near the return/intake inside the plenum is also a suitable option.

BY THE AC UNIT
In front of the AC unit and coils.
Accessible by climbing onto the roof and removing the AC cover.
The ion emitters should not touch any metal surface or wires. Move and secure any wires that may come in contact with the ion emitters.

Step 2
Mount the device
AIRLOCK One can be mounted in 2 different ways. Every RV is different, so we encourage you to use the one that suits your needs best.
Option A
MAGNETIC MOUNTING PLATE
Clean the surface where you want to attach the magnetic mounting plate. Ensure the surface is free from humidity, dust, grease, and oil.
Separate the magnetic mounting plate from the magnets.
Peel off the red liner to expose the adhesive and firmly press the plate onto the cleaned surface for at least 10 seconds.
Wait for 10 minutes to allow the adhesive to bond properly.
Bring the AIRLOCK One close to the mounting plate and let the magnets attract to it.
Option B
SCREWS
Firmly secure the device using the included self-drilling screws. The device can be installed either vertically or horizontally, based on your preference and needs.
When attaching the device to a grille or screen, nylon ties may be used.
The ion emitters should not touch any metal surface or wires. Move and secure any wires that may come in contact with the ion emitters.
Step 3
Locate the AC unit's wiring compartment
Near where you mounted the device, identify the wiring compartment (sometimes called "electrical box," "control box," or "junction box") — a covered enclosure on the AC unit or in the ceiling assembly.
Remove the cover to expose the wiring connections.
If you can't find it, refer to your AC unit's manual.
Step 4
Connect to power
Ensure power to the AC unit is off.
AIRLOCK One works with AC-powered units (100-240VAC). If your AC unit is DC-powered (12V/48V), it's not currently supported.
Connect AIRLOCK One as follows:

To identify Live and Neutral, check the labels (L/N), the wiring diagram inside the electrical box, or your unit's manual. In most US RVs, black = live and white = neutral. Confirm with your diagram.
Wire nuts? Cut off AIRLOCK One's fork terminals, unscrew the nut, add the wire to the bundle, and screw the nut back on.
Screw terminals? Using a screwdriver, gently loosen the screw on that terminal, insert the wire, and tighten it back down.
Optional: if you'd rather AIRLOCK One only run while the A/C is actively running, you can connect it to the fan's power source instead.
Step 5
Turn on the power supply
Verify the device is secured and correctly wired.
Turn on the power supply. A purple LED indicator will illuminate constantly when the device is working properly.
To verify output, take a non-contact voltage reader and place it near the ion emitters it should indicate voltage.

AIRLOCK One installs at your air conditioner, where the air gets moved and purified. One AC = one AIRLOCK One. If your rig is ducted, that's still one unit even though it feeds several ceiling vents — count units, not vents. Two ACs means two AIRLOCK Ones for whole-rig coverage.

I have to say, I was super skeptical about Airlock. I have a Grand Soleil 45 and I purchased an Airlock and a Voyage for it. I bought this boat about 4 years ago, and it's had an unpleasant head smell the entire time no matter what I did.
I was so skeptical about airlock, I kept all of the boxes and packaging materials with full intentions to return them if the smell didn't go away. I installed both, airlock was much easier than I thought. That said, I didn't notice much of a difference the first few days. I couldn't get back to the boat for about 3 weeks, but when I did I was very pleasantly surprised that there was no smell. None. I did leave the ac on the entire time I was gone, but it was set on 80 degrees. I am now a believer.

I installed 3 Airlock Ones in my 1987 Jefferson 46’ Aft Cabin about 3 weeks ago. These boats are all teak wood inside including the floor. There is a noticeable difference but the “old boat” smell is still there. Hopefully as time goes on it will continue to improve. The installation was simple but you might alert customers with split units and variable speed fan motors to attach the leads to a constant 120 volt circuit or run the fans on high speed at all times as I do to achieve the constant 120 volt circuit. Installed into our 45' Sailboat a week ago and can tell the difference after only a couple days. We have two ac's in our boat so purchased 1 unit for each ac. Was easy to install and took only a few minutes. Instruction was straight forward and easy. So far happy customer! I installed my Airlock a couple of days ago. I use my boat regularly and it doesn’t have any bad smells until I turn on the air conditioning. So far I can tell a difference but the smell isn’t gone entirely. I hoping that the air quality continues to improve.

Was skeptical…… but my boat stank. I needed to do something. The sprays, the candles, washing the curtains, scrubbing the carpet… nothing would get rid of the mustyness, the “not so fresh” odor, and just the flat out smell of “boat.” I had a few air purifiers, I have fans blowing in every room, but these things take up space and have to be plugged into electric outlets, so I was tired of having cords running everywhere and having so many devices running that kind of sort of worked just a little bit.
I bought a 1985 Chris Craft Catalina 426 about 1.5 years ago. Old boats have a stink to them. Like, this boat has been sitting in the water for over 30 years, even if the previous owners were clean freaks (they were not,) spent a lot of time cleaning and maintaining the boat (they did not), a boat this old with all sorts of carpet, fabric curtains, cloth furniture will have a unique smell that isn’t known to be pleasant. I’m a liveaboard, so the more my boat stank, the more my clothes stank, the more I just….. stank. Not like b.o. stank, I’m a clean dude and shower daily. I was clean, but my clothes had a smell of “truck stop bathroom musk” permanently imprinted on them. So, something had to be done.
After researching several options, my algorithm finally caught on to what I was searching, and every other ad on instagram was for this “airlock” device. I finally clicked the link, read what they were about and mulled it over for a week or so. I was a little intimidated by the price point since I have 3 ac units on my boat (it’s a motoryacht, so from here on out we will call my boat a yacht,) so I thought it would be a pricey solution, but they advertised that there is a 90 day guarantee. I’m no sucker, and with the guarantee in place, I thought it was a good way to figure out if these things actually worked, So I bought 2 airlock units and crossed my fingers in hopes it would help. If it didn’t help, then I would gladly be sending these things back and getting my money back, because remember I’m not a sucker. I basically thought of it as a “free trial” to see if this technology worked. The big thing for me was that these units appeared to not take up valuable space on an electric outlet, wouldn’t require any cords or cables running on the floor, and the units themselves were to be placed inside the cabinet where the ac units were, and on my yacht, anything I can do to NOT take up any space is ideal.
Well, the units came like 3 days after I ordered them, and I was impressed. Installed them with ease the very same day, and I was once again impressed with how straightforward and easy the install was. I literally had both units installed and running within 30 minutes of opening the box. In all honesty, I had to make a run to Lowe’s afterwards because I dropped 2 terminal screws and they fell into a space I couldn’t reach and my fat fingers couldn’t contort enough to pick em up and this is also the time that I realized that the screwdriver I was using did not have a magnetized tip….. anyway, that was user error, not the fault of airlock. Anywhoo, I was impressed with myself for how quick I got everything all connected and set up, and if you know me, I usually complicate situations, so I had a feeling of skepticism creep back in because there is no way it could have been this easy. I sat in the salon for an hour or so watching tv nervously waiting for my boat to catch on fire since I just messed with electrical stuff, but no, nothing went wrong. I went to bed, woke up the next morning to go to work and the air in the boat felt a bit crisper, and I could genuinely feel that the air just felt….. better.
I’m almost done, bear with me through this final stretch…. When I got home from work the next day, the unit had been installed for less than 24 hours, and I kid you not, when I opened the door to the yacht, I actually giggled out loud, smiled super big, and maybe I did a quiet little fist pump when I immediately noticed how much those 2 airlock devices had worked. Ladies and gentleman, these devices worked. Like my boat smells practically brand new in less than 24 hours. If you know boats, the hotter it gets outside, the more that the holding tanks waft a certain smell around the cabin, the more the galley smells kind of linger in the air, and how the smell of gas/oil from the engine room just kind of always exist…… well, no more. These 2 airlock devices did more in less than 24 hours than I ever could have expected. I went from skeptical, to “what in gods name is this crazy ion technology?” to “I’m no sucker, I’ll return these things and get my money back because of that money back guarantee,” to impressed with how quick they arrived, to proud of myself for not blowing up my yacht, to smiling and overly impressed with this product. I obviously went through a range of emotions in a very short period of time.
Why am I writing so much about this product you ask? Well, since my yacht smells so much better, the air feels so much cleaner, and because these airlock devices just make life all around better, I’m writing this review when I should be leaving for work, but this yacht just flat out smells so good I’m looking for any excuse to stay here on my good smelling yacht instead of leaving to go to work where the air there is NOT filtered by airlock devices.

6. I am absolutely going to purchase a 3rd device, and with how impressed I am, I’m going to get some of the Voyage devices for the head. I’m rarely impressed with things, I usually expect things like this to be gimmicky and not work. These work. They absolutely without a doubt have exceeded any expectations I had about these devices.
7. I kid you not, because of the improved air quality on my yacht, I’m a better person now than I was a week ago. A week ago, I was walking around just smelling like old musty boat. For the past week, I have had a smile on my face a little more often, my mood has improved, these airlock devices have not only improved my quality of life on this yacht, they have improved me as a person.
8. I will gladly tell everyone at my marina about these devices. The few people I’ve talked to in the past few days never even knew there was a hassle free option like this to improve the smells inherent on boats. I hope everyone here gets on board and starts installing these. If everyone’s mood around here improves just a little bit like mine did, maybe we wouldn’t have to yell at Danny every night because he’s blasting Lynard skinard at 11:30pm, maybe he’d feel better and learn that not everyone wants to hear “freebird” every night.

We have a 73 foot houseboat that had been closed up for over a year before we purchased it. The interior smell was very bad. We tried everything for months, with very little improvement. Then we saw an ad for Airlock. We thought, why not? Well that was a month ago and the smell is gone, completely gone. We never dreamed it would work this well. We installed the unit on the return air side of our central air unit and it took about 3 weeks, but it cleaned the air in 750 square feet of boat. Extremely easy install! I installed one in our salon and one in our v-berth. I would say the boat does smell somewhat better and it does seem to help remove odors after cooking a meal quicker.

seems to make smell better, I have it on 24/76 hard wired regardless of AC on or off.
Now if it ever caught fire, there is no way to know, see it or anything..
I have a 1999 290 Sundancer, and installation was extremely difficult, so be forewarned on that one.

This is a very difficult product to review. After all the product is supposed to keep your RV or boat, in my case RV, from smelling. I think it's working, but how would I know if I don't have any smells? I can't tell you. I've had an ongoing problem with a toilet. That is the reason why I decided to put this in. I can also tell you I no longer have those smells. I think it's worth trying it because I'm familiar with a technology which is valid and you've got a 90 day warranty. Go for it!

Airlock has really changed the air quality in our RV. Since the install we have eliminated using the air purifier that we originally had been using. The musty smell is gone and cooking smells have been eliminated. Easy install!

Tried just one in the v-berth of our boat. In 24 hours I can tell a difference in the room and the adjourning bathroom. Rooms smelled fresher and towels do not smell musty. We hang the towels to dry but with the moist boat environment they always seemed to have a musty smell after two or so days. No more. We installed on all additional units and there is no "odor" just the smell of clean air. Our boat is 20 plus years old, well maintained but still had some "smells". Seemed to take care of any issues. Very happy with the product.

Love the product, and the company is first-rate. I was able to easily install the Airlock One on our Hanse 385 sailboat, although I did need to splice in an extra 18 inches of wire so that the wires would reach our AC control box. So be aware that you may need to do this if your control box is a little far from the AC air intake. We also bought the Airlock Voyage for our head. Thanks for making a quality product!

As advertised-easy to install and works well. I wouldn’t say we had a major smell issue prior to installation. Our cabin has no odors since installing the Airlock. I am happy with the product.

Once I found the electrical box and figured out which terminals to connect to, it took all of 10 minutes to install and see it get right to work. I went out to dinner with some friends. It was a cool evening and needed a sweatshirt, but the one I brought smelled like musty boat so left it behind. When I came back to the boat, the cabin just smelled clean. The smell was (mostly) gone from the sweatshirt too. By the next day, all of the nasty smells were a thing of the past! Even after cooking in galley, the residual aromas don’t stick around for long. Loving this thing and so happy to have my nice clean boat smelling like a nice clean boat again!

I just installed 3 Airlock One's on our 2018 Galeon 510 Sky. The installation was simple and the results are well worth the price. After the install, I ran the fans only for about an hour and could immediately tell the difference in the air quality. I can only imagine what the results will be once we splash this spring and the fans are operating 24/7 and the chiller as needed. Great product, highly recommended!
